My first scrapbooking retreat at That Country Place was a successful week end! A group of 5 ladies from Didsbury area were my very gracious guests! They arrived on Friday evening and quickly filled the breakfast room with all the stuff that only scrapbookers can haul!! It was a lot of fun meeting other ladies with a passion for keeping family memories in a way that will be cherished by children and grandchildren! I prepared the meals and they just worked away! a perfect combination! I enjoyed looking at their pages of creative ideas and getting to know them. So, now that I have ironed out a few of the first time kinks,,,,,,book your retreat real soon, get away from your busy schedule, take time with friends or family and enjoy your hobby!
Thanks again to each of the ladies that came,,,, and I hope to see you in the spring time!

Just a small spot under the stairwell downstairs is where you will find my scrapbook corner! I had alot of fun organizing and putting together this cozy space just for creating! The Dollar store, Ikea, and Walmart is where I purchased most of the items in this room. Metal on the one wall of the staircase and an extra metal bulletin board idea is a great place for metal magnetic clips to hold lots of stamps and baggies with project pieces in them. The ribbon holders under the wall clock are just small magnetic curtain rods that I got at Walmart. The desk Darrell made uses 2 file cabinets as the ends, which allows for great storage as well. Clear containers from Walmart and Home Hardware give me lots of paper storage.

One of our favorite places to visit is Fernie. Mountian biking, white water rafting, hiking, beaching it, and being with great friends are some of the reasons we enjoy going to Fernie. We have stayed at a number of places over the past 4 years of going to Fernie and have finally found our great home away from home. Birch Meadows Lodge BnB is a great place to stay! Beautiful location, cozy, clean cabins, hot tub, great breakfasts and wonderful hosts will keep us going back to Birch Meadows!

We have hauled so many field rocks into our yard…big ones that required the front end loader, medium sized ones with interesting colors and marks, smaller ones for flowerbeds and borders. So we only thought it would be best to finish our outside room by using more prairie rocks to frame the fireplace. Great job Darrell! This is one of our favorite spots in the yard. It is shaded nicely and what could be better than a fire on a summer evening

What started with seeing toooo many episodes of Sarah’s Cottage and a trip to Home Sense, turned out to be a quick redecorating of the upstairs loft! 6 pillows and 2 lamps later, a little bit of white paint, fireplace at a great discount deal, a new queen mattress, and making a headboard out of an old door, and presto! a whole fresh, new look to the upstairs loft!
